Steve Nakamura

Instructor & Art Director

I’ve been an instructor in Drifting Pretty since 2005. I am a drifting nerd but my mindset is stuck in 2002. If you ask me about current professional drivers, I would only be able to name a few. But I could probably name every driver that competed in the first D1 Grand Prix in Ebisu.

In Drifting Pretty, I have given helpful advice to students both on the track as well as passing on knowledge of my experiences with cars and driving. I placed third at the 2nd Annual Dori Puri Challenge drift competition and have had a few podium finishes at Carboy DoriCon Challenge events.

I’ve been drifting since the very first Club 4AG Drift Day (2001). I’ve owned AE86′s since 1992 and do much of the maintenance and misc restoring myself. A motor swap, clutch replacement and brake system overhaul have been my big projects over the years.

I also own an Honda S2000 and a 6spd manual G35 sedan for my daily drivers. The G35 has seen some track time.

Besides my contribution as an instructor, I am the acting Art Director for Drifting Pretty as well. I design all the tees, flyers and misc graphics for promotions.
